Analysing a pop music video
In Taylor Swift's music video 'Blank Space' there are lots of things that make it a pop music video. For example Taylor's makeup is very girly and quite seducing due to the connotations of the colour red on her lips. This is reinforced by the actual lyrics in the music video, she is talking about love and relationships.The mise en scene for location is very posh and modern and is set in what seems to be a mansion. This may appeal to a younger audience as they may want to live somewhere like this and be 'rich' and therefore it is attracting the right audience, specifically for this genre of pop. Again the location could make Taylor Swift appear to be a princess in a mansion with her prince. Similarly, young girls may have this dream and therefore enjoy watching the music video and listening to the song as well.

Why reader profiles are important
From looking at some reader profiles I now know that by conducting research and being able to understand the audience of a particular type of magazine is what makes a magazine run smoothly.Also, this research has allowed me to understand reader profiles better and I now know what to include in my own. This research is important and has shown me that it is vital in order to make the readers happy and make sure the magazine sells well and attracts the right people. Knowing the gender of who reads a magazine is extremely important because if you didn't know whether your audience is mainly male or female then how do you know what to include in you magazine to make it sell well? As male and females preferences are very different, such as females may prefer clothes and jewellery and males may prefer cars. Therefore reader profiles are important in order to see which gender your magazine is aimed at because the content in the magazine can be produced according to the gender and no one will feel like they are not being considered. The social class is also important to know as the price of the magazine needs to be considered. There is no point in making a magazine £5.99 if the majority of people wanting to read it cannot afford to spend so much on a magazine. Also by knowing what your readers enjoy it is easier to produce content for your magazine as you will know what they would like to see other than the music and so you can feature other things in your magazine.
